Ricki Ruiz

Ricki Ruiz has been a proud Gresham resident living in the neighborhood of Rockwood for the past 25 years. Ricki was the First in his family to graduate from high school attending the Reynolds School District from Kindergarten to graduation. Ricki Ruiz earned his B.S. in Social Entrepreneurship at Warner Pacific University being the first to graduate college from his family. He is currently the Community Services Coordinator at the City of Gresham. Ricki works in overseeing Gresham’s Neighborhood Watch Program, Youth Recreation Programming and Co-Advices the Youth Advisory Council. Ricki has an array of experiences, including providing one-on-one and group support, planning and developing equitable policies, finding resources to implement and improve recreation amenities across Gresham, and advocating for family rights in things that include immigration, safety, housing, and education.

Ricki was first elected to the Reynolds School Board in 2017 as the youngest member (age 22). Ricki was then re-elected to the school district board in 2019. Ricki has made sure to put our students and teachers voices first. While visiting schools and speaking in classrooms, Ricki has acknowledged that student success does not come without students and teacher input. Ricki recognizes and understands that many students continue to face challenges. He believes that together, we can work to grow success stories for all our students and our younger generation.
